O.H.N. The Original Hipster Nerds of Hip Hop (Pigeon John & LA Symphony) | An Autobiographical History of Christian Rap Music

Most people loathe weekly office meetings regardless of their profession. This is not so at the WhatUpWally? office. Here at WUW? headquarters in College Station, Texas, our staff meets every Tuesday, first discussing any pertinent new album releases, then moving onto any new hot remixes on the internets, and we end our meetings with a discussion on emerging music scenes and undiscovered indies.

Today, we started as usual but derailed quickly when we started to discuss the new album from Pigeon John, Encino Man. Before we could even start discussing the musical direction if the album we broke into an all out civil war concerning the origins of post 2000s hipster nerd hip hop.

Dallas Electronic Dance Hop | Mystery Skulls x The Notorious B.I.G. - Unstoppable Party & Bullshit

We first stumbled upon Mystery Skulls on Bandcamp in 2012, and since then, those mysterious skulls have been killing the indie electronic dance scene and became one of the most recent Dallas bands to sign with a major label (Warner Music).

First, check out some new shit:

Second, peep this mashup of MS's Unstoppable and B.I.G.'s Party & Bull Shit.

Third, for those of you that reside in the CinciNasti, make sure you check out Mystery Skulls at this year's Bunbury Festival. They will also be on stage at Hang Out Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Coachella 2014 Video | Nas Performs Illmatic with Guest Appearances From Jay-Z and Diddy

We've had the opportunity to see the GOAT live a couple times but would love the opportunity to watch the greatest lyricist of all time performs the greatest hip hop album of all time!

For now we will settle for this full concert footage of Nas at Coachella 2014. We may start a petition for a Nas & Jay-Z Tour...

Cincinnati Jazz Funk Soul Hop Fusion | Under New Order - Under New Order (Free Download)

We randomly came across this phenomenal, Lauryn Hill-esque album today while sampling some local Cincinnati artists on Bandcamp

Under New Order, is a hip hop/jazz/soul/funk band, from the Nasti Nati, composed of Lox' Lane (Vocals & writer), Suave (Vocals & writer), Styx (Drummer), Greencloud (Bass), and BaBa Charles (Percussion).

According to their Facebook page, expect a new album this summer, but until then, jam these sounds and head over to Bandcamp for a free download or name your price to support the band.

An Ode to Johnny Football | Drake - Draft Day

Well... I guess you know you have become a pop culture sensation when the biggest name in pop music puts your name on a track that causes little twitter heads to lose they got damn mind! I am not sure what we enjoyed more, the lyrics or the Boi-1Da beat sampling Miss Lauryn Hill's 1998 hit "Doo Wap (That Thing)."

Here's to the most entertaining college football player of all time... H-Town you better jump on the remix and get your city to act right on draft day!

Complete with a subtle Jay-Z diss, Draft Day is a continuous connection of quotable punch lines in which Drake sounds like he is imitating the flow and delivery of J. Cole on his mixtape (#5 on the WUW? Top 13 of 2013 MixtapesTruly Yours 2

Our favorite punch line also included a name drop of one of WUW's favorite Chicago MC - Chance The Rapper

"And if I left this shit to chance, I would've picked a name like Chance the Rapper, No offense 'cause I don't know that n---a/I focus on making records and getting bigger."

The Johnny Football of Bloggers,

Bonus: If you enjoyed the beat more than the actual track, check out a better beat with the same sample, produced by Platinum Pat - GQ Marley - The Fame:
